Theatre

The Theatre / National Stage of Narbonne is managed by an Association Law 1901, commissioned both by the City Community "Le Grand Narbonne", the State (Ministry of Culture-D.R.A.C.), the Region Languedoc-Roussillon and, which are also the main  institutional funders.
 
To win its roots, its strength, its local, regional and national influence, the project of the Scènes Nationales is based on 3 main projects :

• A multidisciplinary spreading of reference shows, articulated primarily around the theater and contemporary dance, without forgetting music and art.
  

• A support to young creative teams, which should enable the renewal of the repertoire and the emergence of new talent and which can be via meeting artists or by the presence of associated creators.

• The development and the loyalty of audiences, adding a policy of price study and the implementations of outreaching, a particular attention to the audience in training.

 

The artistic and cultural action of the Theatre National Stage of Narbonne develops from the art project which must be anchored in a territory and nourished by the relationship which binds it with its inhabitants throughout the years.

• The Center Theater production for young audiences,

• The Theatre Forum Mediterranean,

• With…

• It is welcoming an audience which is attentive, curious, greedy, gourmet, experienced or unused…

• These are creations, residencies of artitistic and technical teams,

• exhibitions,

• There are meetings, courses, with an audience, training  actions de formation with the teachers,the staff of the territory function, the technicians, stagehands, stage managers …

• These are events in the neighborhood with young ones, school children,  associations, day time hospital,

• These are artistic and cultural projects in school, college and high school environment,

• These are classes-theatre at the Lycée Lacroix, lessons at the Lycées Diderot and Gustave Eiffel,

• It is the development of amateur practices with the Studio Théâtre,

• It is a place to welcome associative shows, danse schools, outdoor programs…

• It is a non-stop work to improve the access to culture to most people in "Le Grand Narbonne".

• Since March 2005, the cinema, also plays an important role in the activity of the National Stage.
