The town of Narbonne develops within the frameworks of Cultural and Heritage Service different activities around music.

Thus it proposes Musique en Monuments an annual program of concerts opened to everybody, in places of the heritage to discover and rediscover. The invited musicians mostly started their musical studies at the Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Art on the Community of agglomeration of Narbonne and pursue a career. Concerts for 1 hour are an opportunity to discover the major components of the classical repertoire but also contemporary works. The invited performers simply give the keys to understand these works. Musique en Monuments is a new cycle of concerts to convince that music, in all its types, is accessible to everybody. One concert per month, free entry on Saturday at 4:30 pm is for everybody, for a young or old audience..

This festival proposes meetings and exchanges between artists and the audience through houses of musicians and master lessons. It also invites young artists to perform on springboard stages. And during the summing the people in Narbonne and holidaymakers are invited to Musiques au présent, festival created in 2008 by the town, which aims to support and encourage the creation of today's music in all its forms. In 2009, during Musiques au présent, the Town has also organized a decentralized day of the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon thus initiating meetings between young musicians and soloists, composers and artists of international renown. It is also beautiful occasions to let the Narbonne audience discover classical and contemporary music which take over, for one day, places of the Heritage and the Theatre.
