« A sea that unites us, lands are like us »

Mediterranean Horizon, a program for the distribution of Mediterranean cultures, had its first edition in July 2009.

Put in place throughout the year, work in-depth with associations and cultural contributors of the Grand Narbonne, Mediterranean Horizon aims to spread widely the Mediterranean culture. The highlight of mid-July gather during four days, in the town center, around musicians, artists, actors, historians,… all the people from Narbonne and visitors for social gatherings where everybody, depending on their origins, participate in its own way to that great celebration for the Mediterranean.

This inland sea, by its very nature is a melting pot of people who come from a common history. This sea unites us and these lands are like us. It is in this double symbol that Mediterranean Horizon stands for not only to radiate this Mediterranean culture, but also to share together our common heritage.

For this 1st edition of Mediterranean Horizon, Spain, Maghreb countries and Turkey have especially been in the spotlight.
